"This fifth edition of the PooL Art Fair is slated for March 28-30 at the Hotel Chelsea. Focusing largely on artists that do not have representation in art galleries, the fair's ambition is to create a meeting ground for artists. PooL is the successor to the acclaimed New York Independent Art Fair (November 2000), a groundbreaking exhibition that attracted thousands of US and international visitors. The simple, modest approach of the PooL Art Fair offers an exciting alternative to the "art fair" experience for dealers and collectors, as well as the general public. PooL was created by Frere Independent, a non-profit arts organization that also produces the Digital & Video Art Fair.
Our goal with the PooL Art Fair is to provide the public with access to art and encourage them to support emerging artists. For 3 days, 20 rooms of the Hotel Chelsea will be the home of innovative work by emerging international and local artists, working in diverse media. The Hotel Chelsea has historically served as a meeting ground for artists and innovators. Meet me here provides a unique alternative to the typical art fair in New York during this time, by giving independent artists a chance to inhabit the transitory and clandestine character of the hotel's historic rooms."

33 Faces, Don Porcella
